Gatekeeper have a casting list of several hundred actors (included our extras). The more familiar of these are:
Denise Crosby
Mrs. Crosby is best known within the Sci-Fi community as "Tasha Yar" from "Star Trek: The Next generation", but has a long list of brilliant performances behind her. For those of you wondering about her last name she is indeed the great Bing Crosby's granddaughter. She has always been a favourite in the Star Trek community for her warmth and down to Earth personality!
She will be giving her voice to the "Station Computer", but also a very exciting surplice character to be presented at the end of the movie
Star Wars Actors
As part of our upcoming campaigns we will not reveal our Star Wars actors until later in the production, but it's safe to say they are well known to all fans of Lucas Film's masterpiece Star Wars. The reason for this is that all contracts are tentative and that these actors will appear later in the movie, which means the situation, may change. Should anyone drop out during production we will however bring in a replacement. So don't panic!
Mark Allen Shepherd
Mr. Shepherd's character "Morn" got to be tremendous popular among the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" hardcore fans, and had the reputation of being the most talkative character of the show without uttering a single word. He is no stranger to the Norwegian Trekkie community as he opened the very first Norwegian Star Trek conventions, together with Richard Arnold and Roger Nygard.
In Gatekeeper Mr. Shepherd will portray Del-Mon - the head of the new Jedi Council
Stephen B. Rappaport
Rappaport portrayed one of the two Vidiians who stole Neelix lungs in the episode "Phage". The extraordinary multi talent is also known from a number of other productions like "ER" and "NYPD Blue". Most likely you will get to see one of his critically acclaimed solo stage acts in the time to come and you do NOT want to miss this. The details around Rappaport involvement are still on the table.
Richard Arnold
Given that participating in fan productions are not his cup of tea, we are off course thrilled that our dear friend Richard Arnold has decided to support our production with a cameo. He was Gene Roddenberry's adviser for 16 years and invented the term PADD (Personal Access Display device), as well as Data's limerick "There was a young lady from Venus…". He also worked for the Star Trek magazine "Communicator" and is seen in the first and latest Star Trek movie.
Mr. Arnold will do the part of Starfleet Admiral Manning
Roger Nygard
Nygard is the producer/Director that gave us the wonderful "Trekkies" documentaries. He has also produced and/or worked on films and TV shows like "Back to Back", "Suckers", The Search for John Gissing", Man About Town", "Hight Strung", "The Mind of the Married Man", "The Office", The Bernie Mack Show", Curb Your Enthusiasm", The Loop", "Six Days in Roswell" - and now the amazing documentary "The Nature of Existence".
Nygard will do the part of Commander Higgins!
Leslie Hoffman
Hoffman is one the most talented and experienced stunt women there is, and is best known in our community as B'Elanna Torres stand in and stunt woman from "Star Trek: Voyager and Deep Space Nine". As Mrs. Crosby she has a mind blowing career including some of the biggest film and TV shows in history.
She will be doing several stunt works in the movie as well as advise our stunt coordinator Martin Zetterlund about the stunts in general. She will also do the part of the Vulcan High Command Administrator and Spock's great-great-great granddaughter L'karu.
Izaak Smith
Heart breaker Izaak Smidt was one of the dancers on "So You Think You Can Dance - Canada" and ended up being the third best male dancer - which was a huge accomplishment given the level that year. Not surprisingly he was also the favourite among the girls.
In addition to dancing Smidt also has an unusual and very exciting hobby keeping the old Knighthood tradition alive through competitions. The combination of learning advanced coordination quickly and being experienced with weapons makes him perfect for his character as the famous Zulu warrior Shaka.
Henrik Fexeus
For those of you that have seen the TV show "Lie to me" - Henrik Fexeus is the real McCoy! He is the author of two bestselling books on non-verbal communication and influence "The Art of Reading Minds", and "When You Do What I Want You To – a book on influence". In 2007 and 2009 Fexeus wrote and hosted the TV series "Mind Storm" for Swedish Television.
Fexeus will be doing the part of a Betazed advisor.
Simon J. Berger
Simon J. Berger has joined the Gatekeeper cast. Berger is among the latest stars within the Scandinavian film industry and has been hugely successful with productions like "Up till Kamp" (English title: "How Soon is Now"), "Istället för Abrakadabra" (English title: "Instead of Abracadabra") and "Ingen Kom Ner" (English title: "No Come Down").
Berger will also help instruct our actors to bring out their best performance possible, and we are very happy to have him aboard
Christer Fuglesang
Following in the footsteps of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" we have invited a real life space explorer to join the production. ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang is the first Scandinavian astronaut to visit the International Space Station with the Discovery in 2006, and again in 2009.
Fuglesang will be portraying a holographic educational program of himself - teaching the cadets at Starfleet Academy about old space exploration history and the space ferry's propulsion system.
…and there are several more on their way!
