View Full Version : Ships / Stations
Given the time travel you will get to meet both old ships you've seen before and newly developed ones. Some CGI and some large miniature models. In this section we'll present them all!
Gatekeeper Station - The Blue Wings
The Gatekeeper station is designed by Thomas Dahl and will be will be CGI'ed by graphical artist Jens Lindgren from one of the best advertising agencies in the business; Magoo (http://www.magoo.se/).
Here's a sneak peek at some of the station blue prints. They display the main structure of the lower parts of the station (The Blue Wings) while the details will be added in the CGI only!
The first view of the station will be the Vignette, which will be published 2011/2012.
PS! Notice that the people inside will be much smaller in the final version as each of the five sections in The Blue Wings is about 600 meter tall and contains 57 x 3 floors (divided on A, B and C wing)
THat`s a nice design......And who makes it in 3D now?? :o
Jens Lindgren is recreating it in 3D and adding his own special touch to it with lots of details. :)
This is a concept only, in form of a blueprint! The Station is 39 100 meter tall so for the details to show in the blueprint I would have to make it huge! hehe We also try to leave something for the CGI artsist to have fun with when we can, but we do provide detailed concepts for the CGI artists that prefer to build and/or animate only! :)

For a station over 40 km (40 000 meters or 120 000 feet) tall should leave some huge areas to fill, and ultimately discover. If you lay the bottom off the station at Old Town in Stockholm youll ending up with the top roughly at Arlanda Airport, its that big! J.
That's correct! It's a miniature planet really with huge landscapes inside the biospheres! Tuesday we'll present another part of the station! :) You'll get to see the biospheres Thursday though, as we're doing a part at a time:
Tuesday: The Lower rings and Power Station.
Wednesday: The main Promenade and Biospheres.
Thursday Evening: The upper part of the station
The interior will be presented when you see the movie! ;) Only our Concept artists and CGI will get to see this part of the station.
We've changed the measurement of the blue wings in the original article!
Gatekeeper Station - Lower Rings
A simple sketch of the lower rings of the station!
The lower rings of the Gatekeeper Station contains Starfleet Eelementary and Starfleet Academy - which is the official Starfleet school for everyone living and working on the station. There are still Starfleet schools all over the world - including Mars.
The Gatekeeper Engineering is where the station power sorce is found. It is said to be a subspace singularity. Those of yo thatt have seen the script knows that it's not - and those that are hard core trekkers may suspect what it is (without giving it away!!!).
The VIP Quarters are for honoured guests while the Guest Quarters are for anyone visiting the station.
Gatekeeper Station - Centre
The Gatekeeper station's Main Promenade is the Central City of the station with everything a city has to offer. It has 4 docking stations with 4 slots for large ships and 44 slots for other ships. The Promenade Window is found at the top of the station, while the small windows are for stores and offices along each side of the promenade.
Each of the corridors in the middle of the ring as four holodecks - 16 all in all.
The Biospheres has four different landscapes with plants, water, ice, mountains, woods and jungle, and a number of animals.
In the centre of the four Biospheres you'll find the Biosphere Quarters with both scientists studying the plants and animals inside, a crew of engineers and wildlife preservers maintaining it, and visiting guests.
The Globe is where United Federation of Planets and Starfleet have their interplanetary annual meetings. The ring around is contains offices for each planet's participating representatives and their staff, as well as quarters for some of these. The UFP/Starfleet VIP Quarters are higher up.
Gatekeeper Station - Inside Rings
The rings look the same inside with four tube shaped corridors leading from the ring to the turbo lifts - BUT, the Main Promenade has 4 holodecks ettacjed to each corridor - 16 all in all. Do notoce that the station's spine is far thickens from after Engineering and up!
PS! Scale not correct! Just a holocek note!
Gatekeeper Station - Command Centre
The upper part of the Station contains the Command Centre (Bridge if you will), as well as the officer's Private Quarters. Underneath you'll find the Security Station, screening everyone entering the upper part of the station (one cannot transport to the upper part of the station unless part of the Gatekeeper team). Underneath the security station you'll find the Quarters for UFP and Starfleet officers visiting the Globe.
